Hi, I’m Amanda — a lifelong reader, Gulf Coast local, and the voice behind In Between Work.
I grew up with a book in my hand and never really put it down. These days my TBR pile has taken on a life of its own, with romance and thrillers claiming a permanent spot at the top. There’s something about a story that pulls you in, makes your heart race, and refuses to let you put it down at a reasonable hour and those are exactly the kinds of books you’ll find here.
I’ve been lucky enough to travel all over the United States, and now my teenage son has caught the travel bug too. There’s nothing better than cracking open a great book on a road trip, in a hotel room, or on a beach somewhere new. Travel and reading go hand in hand for me. A new destination always calls for the perfect book to go with it.
When I’m not reading or planning the next adventure, I’m rooted right here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast where my family has called home for four generations. This place is in my bones, and it shapes the way I see the world and the stories I’m drawn to.
